Robert started La Porte Chrysler in 1973. A life long La Porte Supporter and Resident, born and raised! He also purchased the Chevy franchise in the 80's and later sold it. Before being a Chrysler Dealer he worked at his Dad's Dealership and opened his own Used Car Lot. Now retired he enjoys his antique cars, children, and grand children. His son Matt took over the dealership January 2018 after working for him and learning from him for 30 years. He started the La Porte Family Values as you know them now, Always Fair Honest and Transparent, it is what has made us La Porte County's Oldest Dealership and one of the few left in the county that is Locally Owned.

Art started the Magnuson Automotive Family in the 1930's, he had various franchises including White Truck, Pontiac, Edsel, Lincoln and Mercury. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to go hunting and fishing. The picture is his Dealership in La Porte in the 1950's. They are standing by a brand new White Truck which he sold at Maple City Auto Service. Our founder, Robert Magnuson, is in the showroom window in left corner. Art is by the driver door with black hat and pants. He also sold Pontiac's at this dealership. Also pictured are Ken Pagel on left, the lady is Faye, behind her is Woody, and Bob Burdine is on the far right.

Born and raised in La Porte, Indiana and a 1992 graduate of La Porte High School! I started my automotive career at age 14. My first job, sweeping the garage floor and emptying the trash. Since then I have done nearly every job in the dealership from oil changes, detailing cars to selling and managing.
I love every aspect of the dealership and love the family atmosphere that my Father started and I continue at La Porte Chrysler. We do not believe in high pressure or silly games that other dealers play. I personally work every deal with my sales team and all prices are listed on our website, upfront, transparent and HONEST!We have been a local La Porte business for 45 years for a reason, we WORK, PLAY, SUPPORT and LIVE in LA PORTE.
