What's new for 2023?
For the latest model year, Jeep adds a new Freedom Fighter edition to the Wrangler lineup but it's available only for a limited time. You can get it with a steel front bumper, rock rails on the side and a military-themed exterior treatment. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon gets new 17-inch wheel designs. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe for 2023 is a set of three plug-in hybrid models you see included in the listing of trims above, all marked by the letters “PHEV.” These are three no-nonsense Jeep vehicles with a plug-in hybrid electric powertrain that gives them Jeep power along with exceptional fuel economy.
Engines and performance
The 3.6-liter V6 is a continuation from the previous generation. It sits under the hood of the new JL model and delivers 285 horsepower. A turbocharged four-cylinder engine is available and it’s combined with an electric motor to give you extra low-end power. Beyond these two foundation points, the new Jeep Wrangler can be equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 hybrid, a 3.0-liter diesel V6, a 375-horsepower plug-in hybrid 4xe powertrain or a 6.4-liter V8.
A base-level two-door Wrangler Sport with a V6 engine and a 6-speed manual transmission can zoom from zero to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds. The four-door Jeep Wrangler Sahara with the four-cylinder hybrid powertrain can go almost as fast at 6.5 seconds.
Fuel economy
According to the EPA, the most fuel-efficient new Jeep Wrangler with the diesel engine can give you 22 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on highways around Valparaiso and Westville IN. That's enough to beat competitors like the Ford Bronco and the Toyota 4Runner.
Interior options
