If you have been following current news in the auto industry or our blog, you are probably well aware of the new Jeep Cherokee . One thing that has remained a mystery for quite some time is the vehicles pricing. Word has come out that Chrysler Group plans to aggressively price the new model starting at only $22,995 plus a $995 destination fee. This translates to a price $400 less than the starting price of the vehicle it will be replacing: the compact crossover Jeep Liberty.
CEO of the Jeep brand, Mike Manley, explains the appeal of the new model, declaring, "The all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee is entering the largest SUV segment in North America with an unmatched combination of capability, fuel efficiency, technology, safety and value. Jeep Cherokee is absolutely packed with content that includes numerous industry and segment 'firsts.'"1
One particular "first" is a nine-speed automatic transmission designed to generate greater fuel economy. There are also three advanced four-wheel drive systems and "trail rated" variants for those looking for the vehicle to offer Jeep brands legendary off-road capabilities. The new Cherokee will also sport a 3.2-liter version of Chrysler's Pentastar V-6 engine, along with a new Fiat-designed 2.4-liter Tigershark MultiAir2 four-cylinder engine capable of increasing fuel economy ratings by 45 percent when compared to the Liberty.
The new Cherokee is scheduled to arrive at La Porte Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM sometime this fall. Be one of the first to know of its arrival by staying connected with our Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM blog.
